SUNDAY SUPPORT

New Growth
Sunday Support Teams continue to grow as we’ve onboarded about 20 new members!  We’re excited for them to join us and will celebrate them at our New Team Members lunch this month.  Easter Sunday was so special with about 30 Sunday Support team members coming together to help ensure everyone coming through our doors was "seen."  Our prayer was, “Jesus give us your eyes to see the one.” It was a great day!  Sunday Support teams are continuing to grow as a family- learning from and encouraging each other.

Celebrating Jeff
We celebrated Jeff Martin's many years of service as our Safety Team leader.  He’s been a huge blessing. As Jeff moves to a new chapter, we’re excited for Hunter Allen to step up as the new Safety Team Leader.

Dreaming
We’re still dreaming about having a central location in the atrium to greet and share necessary information with our church family and all who visit us.

DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY

Discover Heritage
This quarter nine people attended Discover Heritage. Half of those took the next step in connecting with two completing membership commitment forms. We’re currently working to re-vamp the Discover Heritage class. With some help from the Communications Team, we were able to update some videos- improving content and sound quality.

New & Improved
We’re dreaming of a new and improved Discover Heritage- one that provides specific and practical information on what a "next step" can look like at our church. We also hope to include physical tours of the entire campus and add information relating to the participants unique “quarter” of life.

SMALL GROUPS

We're In This Together
Approaching our January launch, Brad called our staff to be “all hands on deck” in encouraging our people to lead or participate in small groups. The week leading up to small group launch, we participated in a day of fasting and ended with a night of prayer.  We all worked together and together celebrate 130 small groups and the addition of 33 new leaders!

Groups, Groups, Groups
In addition to our ongoing Bible study, prayer, and discipleship groups, we offered a diversity of new opportunities for growth, healing, community, and prayer. We’ve heard some great stories of forgiveness from our Freedom group led by Rod and Lasonda Davis.  Dawn Barnett’s School Prayer group has weekly opportunities to pray for and encourage teachers, staff, and administrators at each school in our county.  Many couples in all phases of their journey have connected in groups like Naked and Unashamed, Sacred Parenting, 10 Great Dates. Empty Nest Parenting, and others. We’ve also had some mentoring sessions for young families and some powerful father-son gatherings.  Eddie Seagle led a group on preparing for global missions, and another group met weekly to explore the possibility of launching the Alpha outreach series in the fall.  Our serving teams have become more intentional about meeting weekly for community and growth together this semester. Grant Hammack led the usher and offering team in a weekly study on the Ten Commandments.

More Than Ever
We’ve had more people- kids, students, couples, ladies, and men- connected in groups this semester than we have in several years! We’re grateful that we’re all reawakening to the need for community and connection and for the huge team of small group leaders rising to the call to offer these opportunities.

BREATHE

One On One
Team building and Sunday participation have increased!  We averaged 21 individuals and 8 volunteers during this quarter.  Breathe has several individuals who require 1 on 1 on Sundays, so we’re working to expand our team to best serve all of our participants.

A Night To Shine
One more time, Night to Shine was amazing!  So many people enjoyed the festive atmosphere and incredible energy of this very special event.  We had 184 participants and 301 volunteers who came together to make Night To Shine happen!

Moving Forward
We’re actively working on expanding our team. We also have several individuals in wheelchairs who’d like to attend so we are still looking for a van so that we can assist them.

COMMUNICATIONS

Social Media
Our biggest hit this quarter in social media was when 40,000 people watched Pastor Steve Scarrow's message about 'Gracie'. This powerful story impacted thousands of lives!  We have a new student joining our social media team, Gracie Kimbrell.  Gracie brings an incredible gift of capturing the emotion of a moment in pictures. We are looking forward to the blessing God has for our church through Gracie.

Online Church
Our online church family is going strong with an average of 185 weekly attenders.  We recently heard a testimony of an online member who loved Heritage so much that he decided to move into this area to be close to the church and his family.  What a testimony to our reach! Online Church started 3 years ago in response to COVID.  During this time, our team has been serving remotely whether it be from Midpoint or from home.  The team was beginning to feel disconnected from our church family. In an effort to combat that, we’re doing a 3 month test run of serving in the sanctuary.  So far, the team feels more included in the worship experience. We’ve also received feedback from leadership and church members that the online family feels ‘real’ now that we have a presence in the sanctuary.  We’re located in front of the Media Room.  Stop by and say hi!  We’re excited to say that we have 2 new team members- John Oxford and Karli Weeks- with 3 more potential team members in the works!

Communication
Plan your Visit is now active on our website.  A new- comer can let us know they're coming and receive communication from us about what to expect. They can view a short video that walks them through the entire experience from the time they enter the doors. This is a great new tool to invite and welcome people to church.

Legends
We’re currently working towards our Legends series for this Summer.  We’ve had moving encounters with the participants and have employed some new creative tools. We anticipate sharing some of the most impactful stories we’ve yet seen!

We're Interning!
We have a Communications intern, Karli Weeks, preparing to join us this Summer. She first encountered Heritage through One Night and then took the next step of attending our Sunday worship service. God strategically placed many people from the Family of God in her life who have played a role in getting her to where she is now.  She has an incredible testimony that we were recently able to tell in the most unique way through the creative use of our LED screens.

A New Thing
There is a NEW THING happening on our communications team and it’s exciting!  We’ve experienced God opening our minds towards a greater level of connectivity to him and creativity through him.  We’ve started a small group called A New Thing with the purpose of creating special moments to support the sermon series.  Our first project was to create a moving drama to complement Brad’s sermon on isolation.  The team is currently dreaming up ways to bless our men for Father’s Day.

FINANCIALS

MISSIONS

The Storehouse
The February bag sale launched our 2023 sales year. It’s always a highlight for so many families to get clothing and shoes for $5.00 per bag. Sales totals for February were $21,385.00 followed by $24,131.00 for March giving us a first quarter sales total of 45,516.00. Through March, the Storehouse relief team has served 34 individuals or families- providing clothes, furniture, home goods, etc. to people experiencing crisis or hardship.  DFACS brought in a 9 year old boy who had been traveling from foster home to foster home as he struggled with anger and other behavioral issues. Besides providing clothing, the team was able to lovingly minister to him through prayer and encouragement. He was so receptive and left with a calm and happy demeanor. We’re grateful that time after time we’re able to meet physical needs as a doorway to offer emotional and spiritual encouragement, invite someone to church, or connect them with next steps toward healing.  As our team continues to grow, we’re currently working to review policies and procedures and update the Storehouse handbook. We’re also gathering information and pictures to make a video loop for our newly created Storehouse missions center. Emily is currently working on writing some children's curriculum for the August Frontiers International Conference in Germany.

So Much To Celebrate Locally and Globally
The Storehouse Team was thrilled for Heritage Church to provide the wonderful facelift on the front of the building. Soon it will be painted and the big sign replaced. Another exciting improvement is the addition of a missions center giving awareness of our local and global partners as well as providing overall mission vision.  Mark Loomis has become involved with Johnny Ray’s Honduras clean water projects and is currently completing an 8 week Spanish language immersion program in Guatemala.  Seth Berl’s team of 24 was able to provide medical and dental care for over 1400 people from rural Honduran communities!  Eddie Seagle has just completed an 8 week missions small group focused on preparing to serve in global missions with most of the participants gearing up to serve in Peru or Germany this summer.  Renovations on East House have been completed, providing space for Formation Counseling, small group meetings, and an office for the Storehouse relief team.  Our Formation Counseling team has grown to 3 counselors who together serve 20-30 people per week.  Our counselors are Amy Owen, Tabitha McCoy, and Andrea Scott, all licensed marriage and family therapists.

To The Nations!
We're currently forming teams for missions to New Life Children's Home in Peru and Frontier International Conference in Germany this summer.  Emily has also been invited to participate in the 25 year anniversary celebration for the Jerusalem School at Bethlehem in the fall.

NEXT GEN

Baby Heritage, Heritage Kids & Students

By The Numbers
We averaged 178 babies and kids attending Baby Heritage and Heritage Kids, with 115 middle school and high school students coming to weekly services.  We're thrilled to celebrate 80 students serving in Student Ministry!  We rejoice in the ongoing salvations and baptisms- 6 students and 6 kids this first quarter!

Not Standing Still
We're encouraged to see the Lord moving in Next Gen ministry!  We had 20+ elementary kids respond to a Gospel message during a worship response weekend, with several taking the next step of baptism!  18 students are currently in one-on-one discipling relationships.  We’ve just completed our 3rd-5th grade Basic Training, which helps teach faith foundations in a family setting.  We’ve also offered Child Dedication classes and launched some Intentional Father-Son gatherings for families with middle-schoolers.  Wisdom for Young Families is a bi-weekly midsize group with wise 3rd and 4th quarter couples sharing.  Ben and Jana Wiggins started a monthly Empty Nest group for parents who’ve recently become empty nesters.  We offered a FB Live for families on developing a culture of respect in the home.  Our middle school worship team has been established and is practicing weekly!  Students have also been leading worship and messages at CA Gray for FCA at the flagpole.  Attendance has grown from 10-20 to around 60!  Students create prayer circles and pray for one another.  We’ve also been asked to join the high school FCA gatherings.

What's Next
We're working on a FB Live- Becoming a Reconciling Family- teaching our kids how to apologize, forgive, and resolve conflict.  We’re currently working on our Fam Jam Family Field Day Finale. We’re expecting a ton of family fun!  We’re also  working on two significant Milemarkers- our 5th grade moving up and our Graduation Event.  Our heart with all of these milemarkers is to provide families with a space to celebrate together each unique phase of their child’s journey. We’re preparing for an Evangelism initiative for students.  Students will be trained to share and distribute in the middle school and high school over 2000 Life Books with the Gospel of John.  And of course, we're busy with preparing for a fun and fruitful summer-  Snowbird Camp, regular summer hangouts, weekly student prayer room sessions with worship and Scripture reading, and the Beach Retreat. We're also developing some summer family resources.

Dream A Little
We are in the dreaming/planning phase of participating in the second Saturdays in downtown Moultrie.  Baby Heritage on the Go! This will include various activities offered to the community for free. On the homefront, we’re dreaming of creating an outside environment for our younger children to play  as well as providing some outdoor seating with child friendly picnic tables. We have a great challenge - we're running out of space!  We’re always seeking and juggling creative solutions to our rooms for babies and kids on Sunday morning, while also looking forward to some of the visioneering plans for kids ministry moving forward in the future! Finally, for students and families, we’re working on some summer mission trip opportunities!

PRAYER

Celebrating Prayer
We’re averaging 50-60 people gathering for our monthly nights of prayer! These gatherings have become such an intimate and encouraging time for our prayer community as well as a great place to invite others in for prayer and encouragement.  In January, we ended the day of fasting with a Night of Prayer in the worship center with over 200 in attendance!

Pray Pray Pray
Our current initiatives are to continue to give vision and grow in Sunday a.m. corporate prayer and monthly Nights of Prayer.  We’re also seeking to build our Sunday a.m. prayer ministry teams. We celebrate several prayer small groups which have been meeting first quarter. Cathy Owen led a group teaching some fundamentals of prayer which was largely attended by students. Brad Bentley led another group on prayer. And, Dawn Barnett is leading a group that meets weekly to pray for our schools.

Prayer For Schools
The Prayer for Our Schools group has been a powerful experience every week as the team seeks the Lord for His heart to pray for each school. The team members have had numerous opportunities to pray for and encourage school administrators, teachers, staff, and students each week. Those receiving prayer from our team have been encouraged and appreciative.

Moving Forward
We would like to plan some prayer ministry trainings, and we're looking to add more prayer warriors to the prayer team.

PASTORAL CARE

By The Numbers
This quarter we've been blessed to cover and pray with 35 individuals as well as well as providing counsel for 2 people. Our MOMs initiative has ministered to 76 individuals during first quarter. When it comes to helping in a crisis, MOMs is available, but more small groups and groups of people who are connected are taking better care of members’ needs. People caring for people is our ultimate goal and we celebrate that we see this happening more and more!

Revival In Prayer!
The School prayer walk small group is comprised primarily of intercessors and pastoral care team members. What started as praying for protection over our schools has turned into praying for salvations, restoration of our school system, and revival!  We’re now being invited to go to other organizations to pray. Recently, the diving coach invited us to come and pray over the diving program and facilities. What a moving image to see him sitting on the highest platform praying a list of declarations the Lord had put in our hearts for this prayer time.  So far, since beginning in February, we’ve prayed over 8 schools.  God is doing mighty things and opening doors!  We’ve had the honor of praying for admin and teachers, and it’s been such a powerful blessing. It’s been encouraging to see how receptive everyone has been to our prayers and words of encouragement with many of them ending in tears of gratitude. We’re about halfway through the school prayer initiative and are praying about our local colleges and tech schools.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Upgrades And Repairs
We started off the first quarter of year 2023 with a bang!  We completed a kitchen upgrade in the Pathway building and also included porch coverings to better keep moisture out of entryways.  Another big project was to resurface the front of the Storehouse building. Now that it is completed, we’re considering a few more upgrades to the front of that building to improve visual appeal.  We replaced a few simple furniture and décor pieces in the atrium women’s bathroom to better serve our guests and continue to maintain our campus.  We had to replace the main water heater at North Campus.  Our black covered trailer was stolen from the gated area behind Storehouse so we’re upgrading our cameras in this area.  Our Campus exterior signage has been upgraded in a cost effective way!

Office Administration
We sent out church wide giving statements in January.  We’re also in the midst of a several month process of cleaning up our database and updating profiles.  Also, in the works is changing over our phone system from Windstream to Talk-In-Church.  This service is an off branch from the Text-In-Church software.  We’ll keep our long standing phone number of 229-891-3421, but we'll be using a more cost effective simple platform for our phone system and voicemail system.  This transition should save the church hundreds of dollars!

SUNDAY AM

Let There Be Light
We’ve almost completed the design phase of the LED light project, a huge upgrade to both our atrium and the sanctuary!  A few components have been submitted to manufacture, so here's hoping we'll see massive improvements over the coming months.

Young Blood
We're excited to have Reese David join the audio team.  He is doing a great job running Sunday morning's sound mix.  Branson Cunningham, Jude Vargas, and Canon Hart have been training on the camera team and are doing great job as well.  It's incredible to see and cultivate the talents God has given these young guys!

Take 5 Everyone
Our team will be taking a break from rehearsals during June and July to rest and refresh for the next season.  We're excited about the much needed lighting upgrade beginning to get underway.  We really do believe this is going to be transformative.
